Welcome to the fall season at Doric. It
has been a fun filled year so far with more to come. At our
next meeting November 4, we will hold our election of
officers for the 2009 year. Please attend and lend you voice
and support of the brothers that are stepping forward for
our Lodge.
In the past month, we have honored our 50-year plus members
and hope to have some pictures in the Masonic Journal down
the road. At the last meeting we had a program on the Civil
War and some of the weapons used presented by Brother Dan
Bradford. It was well received and a job well done, thanks
Dan.
In addition to elections coming up in November we will honor
Past Masters on November 18 with a dinner starting at 6:00
and our regular meeting at 7:30 so again please come and
extend you thanks to those whom have served.
The installation of the 2009 officers will be on Sunday
December 7 in the evening and there will be more information
on this in the next Tressel Board. Hope you will be able to
attend.
Degree work is and has been in the forefront this year and
will continue well into the next. This fall we have raised
one new Master Mason and will be combining with Columbus
Lodge on October 27 with a FC degree. We have two new
requests for EA degrees that are in the planning stage as
well as another FC to do. As is always we will need help and
support. Membership is always a concern so we need to be on
the lookout for the good men in our community and lives.
Alone with membership there is the duty of Lodge dues to
keep up. Many brothers are on top of this but some are
lacking so please check your records and get current if you
are behind and thank you to all who are quick to respond. It
is our hope that we can get e-mail addresses for most
brothers so we can send notices of events in a more
efficient manner in the future so if you are connected,
please forward this information on to Mitch Custer.
Doric is your Lodge so if there is something you need,
please let us know how we can serve you. Do you need a ride
to Lodge? Have you or a family member been in the hospital?
Are there any family concerns that we should need to know
about? Would you like a visit from Lodge bothers in your
home? We are family and want to be there for you but we also
need to know.
See you in lodge,
Dale Holmen PM
