Spring has made it to Madison at last.
Our new Lodge is coming along great. The kitchen is starting
to look like something special. I hear we now have new
appliances thanks to Brother Terry Rieck and his contacts at
Sub-Zero. There is something new every week so stop by and
visit.
On Saturday April 26, we hosted the District meeting; I
cannot tell you it was a success as I am writing this note
before the meeting date. We are expecting a large turn out,
as many brothers are interested in our new building.
There will be an open house for families and friends on May
4 from 1-3 in the afternoon. Bring your family and any non
masons around for a visit. We are always looking for new
members. We will be doing up to four FC degrees this summer
and maybe even a couple of MM degrees if time permits.
Our major event on the books has to be our Cornerstone Day,
which is June 17. There will be a supper for those
interested for a $10 cost. The ceremony will begin at 7:30,
as this is a stated meeting night. This will be an open
meeting so bring the family. I would also like to make a
special request for ALL Past Masters to try to attend so we
can have a photo opportunity. The next photo opportunity I
would like to do that evening will be with 50-year members
in attendance. The final one will be with ALL Doric Members
present. This is a milestone day for Doric so please try to
attend if possible.
We are also starting to put together a golf outing with a
dinner after. You may golf or just attend the dinner. This
is another try to involve family and friends.
I would now like to take some time to congratulate and offer
our best wishes to Kris Engbring who will become Worthy
Grand Matron of Eastern Star of Wisconsin. Kris is a member
of Starlite OES, wife of Brother Doug and daughter of
Brother Bob Gruber. Best wishes Kris and if we can be of any
help please let us know.
As you see, we are busy and would love to see you in Lodge.
If we can be of any assistance to you please let someone
know. We are brothers, let us be one to you. For those out
of town and unable to visit, drop us a line and let us know
what you are up to.
