Well it’s springtime in Madison and it
is snowing out. As much as I dislike winter these days, I do
hope we can break the 100-inch mark for snow in a season.
Going into today, we only need 8 inches with 4 to 6 expected
today.
With spring, we bring new life into Doric. At our last
meeting, we approved the installation of a new kitchen. The
timeline is now about four weeks. Many thanks to our
Trustees for all there hard work in the move and getting
everything ready in the new building. When you see them let
them know what a good job they are doing.
Starting in April I want to bring back my community service
project I started in the past. That is to collect food or
house hold items for the pantries around the area. So
whenever you come to Lodge please bring something for our
PROJECT NEIGHBOR.
New life in Doric means membership, and at our next meeting,
April 1, we will be doing three EA degrees for Alan Pinnow,
Chad Stendal and John Edmunds. We open at 7:30 and it would
be nice to see some support on the sidelines. We are also in
the process of setting up a FC degree. There will be plenty
of degree work this year and we are always looking for more
petitions so if you know of a man that would be a good Mason
get him a petition.
On June 17, we will hold a public corner stone or
re-dedication ceremony with the help of the Grand Lodge
officers. This will be a very special event for Doric and I
hope you will mark in down on your calendar. Along the same
line, many people have asked about an open house for our new
building. I have now set the date for this OPEN HOUSE and it
will be Sunday, May 4th from 1 to 3. This would be a good
time to bring the family by to see what we have to offer for
space.
Many people have asked how they can help with our new
renovations and the answer is simple! Donate to one of our
many new projects. We have even added a new High School for
our Scholarship efforts this year. I would also like to see
us obtain a defibrillator (Project Adam) for our Lodge. This
spring /summer we will need to re surface our parking lot
and landscape the area (per City of Madison orders) and we
could use your help.
As you see things are happening with your Lodge, come and
join the excitement of new beginnings. We are always
interested in what you are doing so if you need a ride let
us know! If your health has been a problem, let us know! We
cannot be there for you if you do not let us know.
Therefore, the message for this month is LET US KNOW.
