November 2006

From The East

From the weather outside it looks to be a chilly fall. Where did our Indian Summer go? As I was getting ready to write this article I was informed that Past Master, Brother Tom Ross had passed away. Tom has been one of our steady dependable workers and will be missed by all.

On a lighter note, we will be doing the Fellow Craft degree for Brother Dave Dewey on Monday Oct. 30 in the Oregon Lodge. We will open lodge at 6:30 with the degree to begin at 7:00. We do hope we are able to have some of our members in attendance that evening.

It is hard to believe that my year is coming to a close. Doric will be holding election of officers at our first meeting in November. Please remember we are meeting at the East Side Club on Atwood Ave / Monona Drive now. Do join us that evening, as this is the future of your lodge.

Our committee looking into Masonic interests in our new location is hard at work. Their report is due back in Dec. so the next few meetings should be of interest to all with respect to our future. As always, we want your input and look forward to your presents in lodge.

With our elections on Nov 7, we will be having an installation of new officers on Tuesday Dec. 19. I am sure they will all be looking for your support for the year 2007.

If you or anyone you know is in need of our assistance or in need of just a friendly visit please, please let one of the officers know. We are a family and do want to take care of our own.

Here’s to having a nice long warm fall. Hope to see many of you as we conduct our next FC degree and at our elections.

Sincerely,

Dale Holmen
