Summer is moving at a fast pace and fall will soon be
with us. That only means one thing ... it is time for
Doric to begin meeting again. Our first meeting will be
on Tuesday, September 5th at 7:30 p.m. at Messiah
Lutheran Church on Cottage Grove Road, where we have
been meeting since April.
It
has been an interesting summer with Doric members
trying (and successfully completing) an EA degree for
Dave Dewey. We have also been busy completing our
trustee’s building survey. Our trustees have been busy
on our behalf this summer and we need to give them a big
thank you. Next time you see them let them know what a
good job they are doing.
We
are now looking at conferring the Fellowcraft degree for
Dave Dewey. I also heard that we might have some new
petitions to read. This will mean more degree work, so
we need to polish up on what we do know and learn the
work we don’t know. I would hope that we would be able
to do most, if not, all the degree work. Doric does have
a dispensation from the Grand Master to hold degree work
in different locations and it is my hope that we could
do all degree work in a true Masonic Lodge. If there
is a Lodge building you would be interested in using
please let me know and I will try to set something up.
I would like to thank the brothers from Oregon Lodge for
the use of their building and all their great help with
our EA degree this summer.
The
trustees are requesting time be spent at our September
5th meeting to discuss the results of the survey (copies
were sent in the last Trestle Board). There was a
motion presented in their letter that will be put forth
at this meeting. There is also the topic of our future
Lodge meeting location that has some interest and will
be discussed. Please be there, as this is your Lodge
and we need input from everyone. I would also like to
try doing some Lodge visits this fall.
It's not too early to lend your assistance for the
upcoming Masonic year. I am sure Kelly will accept any
help you can offer.
If
anyone is in need of a ride or any other assistance,
please let one of the officers know. Are there any
health situations that need our attention? Please let
one of the officers know if you visit the hospital or
are in some way under the weather. We as Brothers, are
interested, and might like to pay you a visit.
See
you at our meeting.
